Today I am going to be sharing my second outfit of the day, along with a quick weekend update. This weekend was an exciting one because my brother, James, graduated from college, and he did it a year early too! I am so happy for him; this has been a hard year for him, but he got through it. I know I wouldn’t be able to graduate in three years… at the rate I’m going it will probably take me six years.. Oh well, it is what it is…
Surprisingly, his graduation was first thing in the morning as oppose to a nighttime ceremony. This meant we all had an early wake up call in order to get ready, drive to campus, and find seats. Getting up early usually isn’t a problem for me, but I hadn’t gotten much sleep the night before, so I was dragging a bit. However, I did manage to convince my dad to take a couple photos of my outfit before heading out.
Since we seem to be skipping straight from winter to summer, it was quite hot outside on Sunday. Keeping that in mind I decided to wear a strapless white romper from Forever 21, a gold braided belt from Forever 21, and a long tan cardigan from Francesca’a. I also added a pastel beaded necklace from Francesca’s, and a pair of wedges I purchased from Target. I actually purchased these shoes while on vacation a few years ago. We stopped into Target to buy snacks and paper towels, and on our way out I spotted these beauties. I couldn’t pass them up, and they have been my summer go-to ever since. I have also been LOVING long cardigans, and the back detailing on this one is gorgeous!
The ceremony lasted around 2 . 5-3 hours, and the mosquitoes were attacking full force… our seats were also towards the back, so it was extremely hard to see… you win some you lose some. After the ceremony, we took a few photos, and then headed out for a late lunch. Since it was my brother’s graduation, he got to pick where we went. Of course he picked Red Robin… guys do love their burgers! I’m not really a beef kind of girl so I opted for the veggie burger.
However, I made the mistake of asking for the vegan burger instead… I very much regret that decision. The burger pretty-much looked and tasted like a burnt piece of rubber, and I know for sure I will not be ordering that again… However, the strawberry cheesecake I ordered for dessert made up for my entree. Me and my dad decided that you are ALWAYS hungry for cheesecake, even if you don’t think your hungry. The rest of the day consisted of hanging out with family, watching Keeping up with the Kardashians (I know, guilty pleasure alert), and ATTEMPTING to make almond butter.
What did you do this weekend?
