July Favorites

Hey Everyone!

I hope you are all having a great week!  So I literally cannot believe that July is already over…  It kindof freaks me out; scratch that- it really freaks me out.  Summer seems to be flying by, and the stores are already putting out fall clothing.  When it is 90 degrees out the last things I want to think about are scarves and flannels.  Why must we always plan for a season ahead?  I am perfectly contenet wearing shorts up until I can’t anymore… of course then I will need fall clothes…

But I digress, for this post I wanted to share with you some favorites from the month of July.  This past month I have tried out some great new products- some fashion related, some beauty related, and some just random…

First on the list….

Argon oil- This product is seriously a miracle worker, and I am not just saying that… Recently, my hair has been feeling extremely dry and damaged, and I have been trying everything and anything to make it softer.  I started taking hair and skin vitamins, tested several different shampoos/conditioners, started using leave in conditioner… I even got a gloss treatment!  However, none of those things even came close to what argon oil did for my hair!  My mom bought me a set of shampoo, conditioner, and hair/skin oil for Easter, and I finally got around to trying them out.  After using the oil, I immediately noticed that my hair was more moisturized, and the natural curl in my hair began to come through after just one treatment.  Also, the shampoo and conditioner smell sooo good, it’s like a mix of vanilla and every warm and comforting spice you can think of!  My mom got this set online, and although I am more of an in-store shopper, I will definitely be ordering this product again.

Colored Hair Shampoo- This is another hair product I have been loving!  While at my local salon getting a gloss treatment, I got lost looking at the hair products and decided to  try out a colored shampoo.  I have never dyed my hair before and wanted to amp up my color a bit.  I have been using this product a few times a week for most of July, and I actually have been seeing a difference in the tone of my hair.  Although it hasn’t been a drastic change, both my mom and my hairdresser noticed the vibrancy has changed (so I know it’s not all in my head).

Aveeno Positively Radiant-  For the past couple of months I have been starting every morning washing my face with this cleanser, and my skin has been loving me for it!  I have never struggled with any major acne; however, I often get blackheads coupled with the occasional breakout, and this cleanser has made those occurrences even less frequent.  Not to sound cheesy, but my skin has truly been “positively radiant.”

Wedges- This month I have literally been living in wedges.  Since I am on the shorter side, I often need some extra height, and wedges allow me to have that while still being able to walk comfortably.  I also feel like wedges are a great way to complete an outfit, so this month I have been wearing them almost every day to work.  To be completely honest, I rarely wear flats or even sandals without a heel anymore…

Crest 3-D White Toothpaste-  This may seem like a strange thing to share, but I really have been loving this toothpaste.  I usually don’t see much of a difference with toothpastes; however, after using this one, I have noticed my smile is much brighter than usual!

Now onto the random favorites….

MKTO- Afraid of the Dark- For me, MKTO is one of those bands that can never come out with a bad song.  Not only do they constantly put out great music, but I can listen to their songs on repeat without ever getting tired of them.  They recently came out with a couple of new songs, and although I like them all, my favorite by far is Afraid of the Dark.  It’s just so catchy!

Scream (the TV Show)- Something you may not know about me is that I love scary movies… that, and I may or may not have an unhealthy obsession with Criminal Minds.  Being the horror- obsessed person I am makes the new Scream series on MTV a must-watch for me.  The target audience is definitely more geared towards the teen/young adult category, but if you are a fan of the Scream movies you will also enjoy this show!

Never  Let me Go- When I was younger I used to read  all of the time, but that quickly changed as I matured.  During both high school and my first year in college, I either didn’t have the time to read, or didn’t have the urge.  However, this summer I decided to pick reading back up.  I know it is not always easy to fit reading into your day, especially with a busy schedule; however, what I have been doing is reading before bed, and it has been extremely enjoyable.  I forgot what it was like to get lost in a good book, and I can honestly say I missed it!  During the month of July I read Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro and I loved the futuristic and Utopian vibe.  However, if you do end up reading this book, do not look up what a carer is online because you will find major spoilers.  I made the mistake of looking that up the first day I started reading this book, and immediately regretted it… you have been warned!

EmTalks- To finish off this post I wanted to leave you with my favorite blogger of the month!  Em Sheldon also has a blog that focuses a lot on fashion along with her travel experiences, fitness posts, and healthy recipes!  She always has a positive attitude and her pictures are absolutely gorgeous, not to mention she has her own clothing line!  If you wish to check her out, her website is  http://www.emtalks.co.uk/.  I highly recommend you do, I know you will love her!

And that’s it for this post!
