So today I wanted to share with you some of my favorites for the month of September, and yes- I know we are already over a week into October… but better late than never- right? Like every month, September flew by without skipping a beat; however, last month was different in that I am actually super excited for everything that comes along with the month of October. Fall is by far my favorite time of the year, and I am beyond ready for corn mazes, pumpkin picking, haunted hayrides, scary movies, craft fairs, and fall fashion! With that being said, September still brought in a good amount of favorites, and I can’t wait to share them with you! Lets get into it!
Thin Delicate Necklaces– I have never really been one to gravitate towards thin necklaces- however, during the month of September (and now October…) I have been wearing them more often than not. If you know my style pretty well, you would know that I usually gravitate towards chunky statement necklaces. However, this month I have been stepping out of my comfort zone and sporting a thinner chain. I used to think that thin necklaces were too simple; however, I am starting to really love the subtle girly vibe they give off.
Pure Seduction– Do you ever use a product all of the time, lose it, forget you ever owned it, and then find it again? Well, that’s basically what happened with me and this body spray. Maybe it’s because I am an impulse buyer, or maybe it is because I just love body sprays, but over time I have accumulated quite a collection of different scents. Needless to say, I recently rekindled my love for Pure Seduction by Victoria’s Secret, and am close to finishing the bottle… I’m pretty sure that never happens (at least for me). When you actually finish a bottle of perfume, that’s how you really know you love the scent.
Maroon Anything– Yupp, one of my favorites is a color… I’m starting to think that my favorite color changes depending on the season… at least for fashion that is. There is just something about the color maroon that screams Fall to me, and the fact that I am constantly surrounded by new merchandise (maroon merchandise that is…) at work, doesn’t help my obsession. I’m planning for my next big purchase to be a maroon handbag; however, I have also been loving maroon jewelry, dresses, shirts, cardigans, nail polish… you name it, I’m sure to love it!
Giant Vaseline– This one may seem a bit strange, but I promise, I am not crazy. If you read about my Top 5 Beauty Essentials, you already know that I am a huge fan of Vaseline; however, for those of you who don’t know- let me fill you in! A couple of years ago I was trying to find a way to get stronger lashes, and I stumbled across a tip that said to apply Vaseline to your eyelids. For some reason, that habit stuck with me, and now every night before bed I apply it not only to my lashes, but also to my lips and knuckles to prevent cracking. Needless to say, I go through Vaseline pretty quickly, so when I saw this obnoxiously large tub on sale at CVS, I knew I had to get it… and yes, that Vaseline on the right is the normal sized container.
Dark Colored Lipstick– This is another thing I fall in love with every Autumn. As soon as the weather starts to change, I begin gravitating towards darker lip colors, and warmer overall makeup looks. I’m starting to really love lipstick since it can easily set the vibe for an outfit, and instantly makes you look more polished… plus, it takes hardly any time to apply!
Sam Hunt: Break up in a Small Town– I’m sorry, but I’ve got to blame my sister Julie for this one… she is a huge country fan, and played this song for me after discovering it for the first time. She was on the edge about whether she liked the song or not; however, there is something about it that I just can’t get enough of. If your not familiar with Sam Hunt, you should know that he isn’t your average country singer. He basically tries to merge rap and country, which I’m not usually a huge fan of, but for this song, I’d say it works. I mean I had it on repeat for basically all of September, so that has to count for something, right?
Car Air Fresheners– I think it’s safe to say that we all want our cars to smell good. However, based solely on my own experiences, I have realized that it is not always easy to find an air freshener that actually works. Maybe it’s just me, but oftentimes I have a hard time smelling car fragrances unless I get super up close and personal with them. However, I have found that the cardboard air fresheners from Yankee Candle do a pretty decent job, and although they don’t last for a very long time, the aroma they give off is certainly notable. My favorite scent so far? Candy Corn! That scent makes me feel like I’ve died and went to heaven… Also, in case you were wondering, there was a huge sale on these- that’s why I have so many of them ;).
Ballet Barre- My gym just started offering a Barre class, and I have absolutely been loving it so far! You may or may not be familiar with this class, but in case you don’t know, Barre is an exercise class using ballet as the foundation for it’s routines. When I was younger, I danced for about ten years, and then started cheering after that, so needless to say, this class is pretty nostalgic for me. Don’t worry though, you don’t have to be a dancer to take this class. It focuses mostly on leg exercises in different ballet positions, so you don’t have to worry about embarrassing yourself with leaps and twirls… although that would make a pretty interesting class!
And that wraps up yet another monthly favorites! Again, I am so sorry that this post is coming at a ridiculously late time during the month, but sometimes life gets in the way! Next month I promise to work harder to get my favorites up on time! Until next time!
