What I got for Christmas 2015

Hey Everyone!

I know, I bet you are all surprised to be hearing from me!  Although I always feel like it’s been forever since my last post, this time it has been over a month… yikes!  I know, I know, I always say I want to post more, but the holidays made my life extremely busy this year- especially with finals and extended work hours!  However, a new year has just begun, which means… new year’s resolutions!  And as the new year kicks into high gear, you can bet that one of my top goals is to post more… well, as long as I can keep my sanity that is…

Anyways, today I wanted to share with you some of my favorite fashion/beauty gifts I received for Christmas this year!  However, before I start off this post, I wanted to take a moment to wish you all had a truly blessed holiday, and a happy new year for everyone who celebrated!  However, even if you didn’t participate in any of the festivities, I hope you were at least able to spend  some time with friends and loved ones, and allowed yourselves to take some time off to just relax!

Also, although this post is centered mostly around material items- I wanted to remind you that I would have had a fantastic holiday even without receiving anything materialistic, and I know that Christmas is about a lot more than gifts.  Nonetheless, giving and receiving presents has always been a big tradition in my family, and one of my favorite things to do growing up was to share everything I got for Christmas with my sisters and brother the following day.  Also, if anyone is reading this who gave me a gift this year, I would like to send a big thank you your way- you are awesome!

So, without further ado, lets get into it!

Body Scrubs/Body Butter

I have to admit it, one of these gifts was purchased by me, for me…oops.  The Body Shop was having a huge after Christmas sale, and their holiday body butters were marked down to six dollars while they are usually over twenty dollars- how could I pass that up?!  The Body Shop isn’t somewhere I purchase from on a regular basis; however, this deal was too good to ignore- plus the scents and textures of their products are always amazing, not to mention they are all cruelty free!

The scrubs however, were both gifts from my sister- and I can’t wait to try them out!  I am always game for testing out new products, and love experimenting with different brands until I find the ones that work best for me!  Both the sea salt scrub, and the coconut water scrub are products I have never tried before, so I am not sure what  to expect; however, I have high hopes for both of them and will keep you posted if they end up working out!

Knockoff Ralph Lauren Boots

I actually already knew I was getting these boots, but I completely forgot about them by the time Christmas rolled around…  On Thanksgiving my Aunt was looking through the BonTon ad, and asked me which pair of boots were my favorite.  After scanning the page she was looking at, I told her I liked this pair the best, and she said something like: “Cool, now I know what to get you for Christmas.”  I wasn’t quite sure whether she was being serious or not, but as you can see- she kept her promise, and I’m glad she did!  I’m already planning out outfits to go with them in my head.  Am I the only one who does that?  I feel like whenever I get a new clothing item or accessory, I center my whole outfit around that item…

These earrings were a gift from my mom, and I’ll be honest- at first glance I thought they were a bit young for me.  However, I quickly learned to love them, and have worn them several times already.  The color ended up matching a dress I own perfectly, and I really like the bohemian vibe they give off.  I also received several other pairs of earrings this year; however, I only decided to share one pair in order to keep this post at a reasonable length.

Clinique Makeup Bag

This gift was from another one of my Aunts, and came to me as quite a pleasant surprise- as I wasn’t expecting to receive anything from her!   In this makeup kit I received a lipstick, mascara, makeup remover, blush, face soap, and concealer.  I love receiving gifts like this not only because I get to try out a bunch of new products, but also because I always need new makeup bags!  I use them for traveling, in my purse, in the car, and as pencil cases!  I feel like a little kid… getting more excited about the box than the actual gift… such is life… I still appreciate the makeup though!

Accessory Holder

This is another gift I am really excited to try out- especially if I end up living on campus next year!  My mom got me an owl scarf/accessory holder, and I feel like it would be perfect to either hang on my door or in a closet in order to conserve space.  Also, another one of my new years resolutions is to get more organized, so hopefully this will get me headed in the right direction!

Body Wash

I think I mentioned before that I am slightly obsessed with Bath and Body Works- especially when it comes to their holiday scents, so I was pretty pumped when my uncle gave me a variety of their body washes for Christmas.  Of course my favorite scent he gave me was Winter Candy Apple… I mean, is that even a question?

Embroidered Purse

So this was another gift I more or less picked out for myself…  I have been in the market for a new bag for quite some time now, but never got around to purchasing one.  I don’t know what it is about handbags, but I simply can’t fathom splurging on one… even when my strap is literally two seconds from snapping off… I know, it doesn’t make sense, I will buy endless amounts of clothes and jewelry, but when I actually need something  I don’t buy it for myself.  Anyways… with that in mind, I picked out this beauty at Francesca’s, and asked my mom to (please) buy it for me for Christmas- which she did… thanks mom!

Hair Dye

You may remember me previously mentioning a failed attempt at dying my hair rose gold- and if not, all you need to know is that the color only lasted about a week.  Well, knowing this, my mom decided to purchased me pink hair dye from the brand Splat in the color Pink Fetish.  Although I did feel like my hair could have turned out more vibrant the first time around, I’m not going to lie- this color kind of terrifies me… especially coming from this particular brand, as I hear it works really well.

Fashion A-Z

This last gift is from yet another Aunt (I have a large family in case you were curious), and I figured it would be wrong not to include it!  Apparently my Aunt saw this book, and immediately knew she had to get it for me.  Basically it is a dictionary that includes definitions for anything and everything that has to do with fashion- something I am sure will come in handy!

And that’s it for this post- I know it was a long one!  Also, I just wanted to reiterate that this post was not meant to brag or show off in any way, it just seemed like a fun post to do!

Until next time!
